For structural reasons, we lost some material on the novel’s enormous debt to Borges, in particular “Funes the Memorious” (“Funes, His Memory”) from the 1944 Ficciones (or Fictions) which I may share here at some point, along with some other thoughts on the literary and possibly other (historical?) influences on early Amis. . .
