Just over six months ago – on Halloween, in fact – I took an unjustly maligned coach service from Shepherd’s Bush to Oxford High Street, visited a couple of colleges, wandered about, was rained on, got lost finding my accommodation, and spent an hour or so at the Rothermere American Institute with Zachary Fine and other editors from the Oxonian Review, for a discussion about literature, cultural journalism, and related matters which formed the sort of basis for this interview, part of an excellent ongoing series.
